The market for connected glasses, although it is not yet really started would be particularly promising. This is at least what the American giant Intel thinks who does not wish to leave the monopoly market to Google Glass.

Intel buys the maker of glasses connected Recon

Recon is a manufacturer of augmented reality glasses. Little known to the general public, it offers primarily augmented reality glasses and helmets connected to sports. The manufacturer offers including glasses for runners, cyclists and skiers. By acquiring Recon Instruments, Intel would position itself in the market previously dominated by Google Glass.

Augmented reality glasses upscale

Stuffed with electronics and sensors, the glasses offered by Recon Instruments offer a wide range of applications. They allow such filming at 720p, taking pictures with a very good resolution. They are equipped with various sensors, such as: gyroscope, GPS, altimeter, magnetometer, barometer, accelerometer, or a thermometer. The screen glasses is also excellent with easy access to all the desired information. It is likely that Intel wants to give a more mainstream direction for future glasses connected.

The war of augmented reality glasses is it declared?

The war could be connected glasses now declared between Intel and Google two American giants. Note that, even far less known than the famous Google Glass, Recon Instruments has sold more augmented reality glasses that Google has elapsed. Connected glasses should be a huge market in the coming years as the number of possible applications is important. Our world is probably trying to make the turn toward all connected.
