Quanta was present at the Computex 2015 last week, the Taiwanese company took the opportunity to unveil a new computer to completely atypical format.
The Compute Plug actually not like a traditional PC. It is extremely compact and its size is similar to that of our phone chargers. Fun fact, the manufacturer has also chosen to integrate the power outlet to the housing to further drive a little nail.
Plug the Compute will be focussing on voice control
Not surprisingly, the connection is quite limited but the case is still equipped with two USB 3.0 ports and a HDMI output. It will be possible to connect it to a television, a monitor, a printer, or even a whole mouse / keyboard.
Another point not least, under the hood, we will also find a WiFi chip and a Bluetooth chip. Plug the Compute will therefore not need to be physically connected to the home router to access the web and LAN.
Quanta did not reveal the specs of the device but PC World thinks it should be closer to that of NH1. This device features a SoC Intel Bay Trail-T CR (Z3735F) 7 with 2GB of RAM DDR3L and storage space from 16 GB or 64 GB depending on the model.
The best is yet to come. Plug the Compute will actually comes with Windows 10 and will save the package as Cortana will be fully voice-activated. It will just connect a headset with a microphone and dictate our orders to execute them. With this system, it will be possible for example to launch Netflix in an instant and without the need for putting your fingers on the field mouse.
For now, the manufacturer has not revealed the price of the machine, nor the date on which it will be possible to enjoy. He will have to wait a few days or weeks to see clearer.
