iOS 9, Apple brings support for viewing multiple applications at once for iPad . From 9 iOS, users will be able to open a new application in a small window without leaving an existing application using a view named "slide-over".

You want to keep both applications on the screen simultaneously, allowing you to interact with one or the other at any time? You can enable the Split Screen mode for this.
There is also the support for displaying a small inset video ( Picture in Picture ), allowing you to open a video in a small window that stays on top of the screen when you use other applications . The video window can be moved or resized. On stage, Craig Federighi demonstrated the Notes application on the right side of the screen, and switching to another application on the left side. It really sounds like what we know about Windows, where you can change the width of the two columns for example. And an application can even consider return to full screen with the same gesture to resize the columns.
Apple will also push API allowing application developers to add support for new multi-tasking features. However, the functionality will not be available on all iPad.
