PC sales still down, but could rebound in 2016

Although sales of mobile are still increases, all other sectors in sales of electronic devices are dropping , according to a new publication of the study group Gartner . In fact, the total growth of devices this year was 1.3%, an increase compared to 2014, but far from the expected gain of 2.8% from one year to another.

According to Gartner research director Ranjit Atwal, "this was partly due to a continued slowdown in PC purchases in Western Europe, Russia and Japan in particular, largely due to price increases resulting from the devaluation of the local currency against the dollar " . The sector has also had to cope with the end of support for Windows XP, which hurt sales until this year. But the devaluation was the most important factor.

However, there was an increase in what the report describes as Gartner sale "Ultramobile (Premium)." This category includes devices such as the range of Microsoft Surface, and the MacBook Air from Apple. These devices are increasingly popular, and sales figures reflect this.

Nevertheless, there is a glimmer of hope for PC sales, which shows up with Windows 10 . But it will not solve all problems immediately. The publication of Gartner does suggest that the release of Microsoft's newest operating system will, initially, reduce sales, but over the next year so that prices will settle, businesses and end users eventually buy replacement equipment to have the latest version of the OS from the Redmond company with recent equipment.

The mobile market is growing much faster than the PC market at the moment, but there is a limit to its growth in the near future. The Gartner report notes that growth slows smartphones in China, manufacturers will begin to adopt a different strategy to renew consumer smartphones. In addition, the new version of Windows 10 should help boost PC sales office and portable.
