The study proves that the notifications on your smartphone can ruin your life

We always told you to put your phone when you have something to do. The study adds that it should also disable notifications.

It is often said that you do not use your phone while driving, walking or when you run a task that requires attention. But even if you do not touch your mobile but you hear notifications of it, the loss of attention would be the same. This is at least what has been concluded researchers at the University of the State of Florida following a study on the loss of attention that cause notifications.

The experience has included asking participants to do a task that required attention on computers. And without them knowing it, they were divided into three groups: those who received the calls, those who received the text message and those that have not been disturbed. Calls and text messages were sent by researchers.

And the conclusion is very interesting. Not surprisingly, those who have received notifications were three times more mistakes than those who did not receive it. And those who have received calls (missed) had the worst scores. The conclusion therefore is that even if we do not use our mobile but we hear them sound, it already loses concentration (it is logical, would you tell me).

Furthermore, the University of Florida researchers also compared the results of their research with those of other covering the loss of attention resulting from the use of a smartphone and found that they were the same .

So in essence, even if you do not answer calls and even if you do not watch the notifications, the consequences would be the same (in addition, there is now also the smartwatch).

The trouble is that currently, we receive notifications for everything and anything (mail, games, media and other apps). Fortunately, there are usually ways to filter these notifications, failing completely to silence his smartphone when carrying out an important task.

Otherwise, the good news for Android users, is that in his M version, the operating system from Google will integrate a mode called "Doze" . This seems to have been primarily designed to increase the autonomy of the mobile by shutting down non-priority apps that run in the background when the phone is not used. But acting as such, it should also reduce the number of intelligently notifs that one receives when the mobile is placed on a table.
