In recent days, there has been much interest in the safety of the Android operating system following the discovery of two significant flaws , including one that allows for total control of the target the smartphone after sending MMS.

And also, researchers have also recently highlighted what could be a big problem for Android smartphones that use fingerprint scanners to identify users.

Discovered by Tao Wei and Zhang Yulong, the FireEye researchers, the new attack would steal fingerprints on Android phones.

And unlike passwords, which can be replaced periodically or when we find something suspicious, fingerprints, they are kept for the rest of our lives.

"With this attack, the fingerprints of the victims fall directly into the hands of attackers. Throughout the life of the victim, the attaqueur can continue to use fingerprints thereof to conduct other malicious actions  , "says one of the researchers.

Previously, other hackers had already shown a technique to bypass the security of smartphones have such scanners (such as the iPhone 5S or Galaxy S5) by making false impressions from traces left by the user on mobile screen.

But as explained Tao Wei and Zhang Yulong in their publication , these optical attacks (which consist in believing that the scanner is the finger of the target which is posed) while they discovered intervenes at the system level.

Otherwise, know that in some countries like the United States, justice can not require you to give your password. However, this protection does not apply to the fingerprint scanner.
