ASUS wants to sell augmented reality glasses

During his recent lecture Windows 10, Microsoft made ​​a small demonstration on stage of what his holographic glasses are capable of.  Currently, these are not yet available on the market. But some units will be offered to developers by next year, to 3000 dollars.


Later, we also learned the site CNET that the Taiwanese manufacturer ASUS is already interested in the platform that powers those glasses and that it discusses with Microsoft about a possible partnership that would allow ASUS to offer similar products .


Moreover, today, ASUS reveals that he is already working on augmented reality glasses and could enter the market next year. However, it has not indicated whether it will be glasses in the Microsoft platform.

In any case, unlike virtual reality helmets, that immerse the user in a fully virtual environment, the augmented reality glasses such as those marketed ASUS would insert images (or hologram) in the environment of 'user. According to the website CNET, the CEO of Asus, Jerry Shen, have explained that augmented reality, for him, will be more useful than virtual reality.


It is also noted that Microsoft is not the only US giant to pay close attention to augmented reality. Indeed, in addition to having tested the Google Glass, Google has also invested in a startup called Leap Magic working on a technology similar to that of Microsoft Hololens.
