Google Nik Collection is now free

Google is known for its valuable services, the majority of them are free. However, when the company acquired Nik Software, which specializes in photographic processing, in 2012, the price of the product suite has remained such - although she packed them at a lower price. Now Google has just left completely free Nik Collection , which will open the highly regarded tools to more photographers.

The suite consists of seven plug-ins for desktop versions of Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Lightroom and Apple Aperture and the deceased. The tools include Analog Efex Pro, Color Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro, Viveza, HDR Efex Pro, Sharpener Pro and Dfine. Anyone who purchased later this year will be automatically refunded.

Nik Collection software suite provides photographers with additional tools to easily enhance photos. For example, Analog Efex Pro can help to create the look of a film, while Color Efex Pro and Silver Efex Pro are respectively dedicated to image colorization, and black and white. Viveza allows you to adjust the color and tonality, HDR Efex Pro creates vibrant photos, while Sharpener Pro helps sharpen the images, reduces noise and Dfine.

What future for Nik Collection?
Now that the sequel is released, the professional and amateur photographers can add to their workflows of Photoshop and Lightroom. Lambdas users can in turn find what they need, provided you have the required applications (Google provides online tutorials on how to use the tools).

With this change, some photographers wonder what will become of the plug-ins Nik . Google has shown that it is not afraid to give up popular applications (do you remember Picasa?). And with the growth from mobile devices, Google has mobilized resources in Google Photos and Snapseed, the last is developed by Nik. Time will tell if Google will continue to develop these professional plug-ins for desktop computers.

If you have not yet tried the plugins Google Nik Collection, you should take a look, and download them from the website Google Nik Collection.
